Less Than Two Months….

We are under the two month mark to Christmas so now is the time to start shopping!

Kaine Homes will be hosting a holiday open house which will benefit Wounded Warrior Project. Please visit our College Station model in Prince Frederick on Sunday, November 13, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. There will be refreshments, door prizes and plenty of shopping opportunities!

Countdown to Halloween…

It’s the last week before Halloween and that means this weekend is time for fun! No need to worry, Southern Maryland has plenty of patches to pick your pumpkins!

1. Spider Hall Farm is located in Prince Frederick off Route 231. They are open on weekends and offer hayrides, a corn maze as well as a pumpkin patch. See their Facebook for more information.

2. Just over the Benedict Bridge in Benedict is Serenity Farm. Plenty of Halloween events and Kasper’s Castle!

3. 25 minutes south of Prince Frederick you’ll find Bowles Farm in Mechanicsville, home of the world’s largest corn maze! Visit Bowles so you don’t miss your chance for the petting zoo, maze, barrel rides and face painting. Be sure to grab a cupcake from the bakery on your way out.

Run to End Hunger

We’re about a month away from the Run to End Hunger in Calvert County 5k…have you registered?

The races begins at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday October 22, 2011. The course starts at Trinity United Methodist Church on Main Street and the route is mostly flat with an “out and back” course. Registration before October 1 is $20.00; October 1 until race day is $25.00. Canned good donations are being accepted. Awards will be presented to top finishers AND there’s a race for children and adults!

The Farm Stand is now open and selling local produce, meats, baked goods and dairy products. In addition, you can find beautiful bouquets of flowers and garden accessories.

The Farm Stand is located at Spider Hall Farm on route 231 in Prince Frederick. Spider Hall is most popular for its hayrides, cornfield maze and pumpkin patch in the Fall. Elementary schools and daycares also have the ability to schedule and plan field trips!

If you guessed Prime Wine and Spirits in Prince Frederick, you’re right! Bonus points if you guessed he was there wine tasting!

Prime Wine and Spirits is located in the Chapline Place Shopping Center next to The Hair Cuttery. This store has a HUGE variety of beverages and features a “Make Your Own Six Pack” with an extensive line of beer and ales to choose from.

Almost every Friday evening, Prime Wine and Spirits hosts a wine tasting with the opportunity to sample up to six different wines. Occassionally, they host other events as well. Be sure to check out their competitive prices too!

There are a variety of ways to play, whether it be on a league, through a birthday party hosted by the bowling alley or during one of the many nightly specials they offer. The bowling alley also has a snack stand and full-service bar.
